It did'nt work out for me. Had the car serviced in the morning and time it was finished it was 2.30pm, didnt leave me much time to get round the M25 for 4.00pm

I got the usual three interesting snippets sent to me a day by Jack up to the 27th, then on the 30th John P. sent a message that jack had died.
I had no more contact so did not know when his funeral was to be.
I dont think I could have attended, as I was not really up to going to my last surviving brothers funeral last Friday.
I did get there but missed the service, as I was a bit unwell..

On the 6th March at 1050hrs I met up with Dave Partridge and Ricky Richards at Sloane Square Underground to answer an invitation from John Back for a guided tour around The Royal Hospital Chelsea. John has been a 'In Pensioner' at the Hospital for the last month. At 1100hrs on the dot we were met by John at the Main Gate and formally booked in as 'visitors'. After a few photos John took us on a detailed tour of the Hospital taking in the New Infirmary, the Old Building,Chapels, accomodation and Johns own room. After a tour of the grounds we called in the In Pensioners Club for a couple of pints and then it was of to the dining hall for an excellant 3 course lunch. After lunch more sight seeing and finally a vist to the museum and gift shop before John escorted us to the Main Gate and we said our fair wells. John is settled in the Hospital and looking very well, and very Smart in his Scarlets, his other day dress is 'Blues'and he can wear his 11H cap badge in his head dress. All in all it was truely a Super-Tuesday and we could not thank John and the other In Pensioners enough,we were warmly welcomed every where we went,we shall certainly be going again. If you would like to visit John all you have to do is contact him, incidentally watch out for him at Telford he will be the one in the Scarlett jacket. See Photos supertrooper.

Just got back from the funeral of Maurice, what a turn out, over 120 seated and at least 25 standing,11th Hussars ties were wall to wall. The casket was covered with the Regimental Flag and The Cherrypicker Beret and Maurice's Medals.
I have trouble recalling just who was there, but to name a few.Lemon,Humberstone,Casey,Mellors,Mansfield,Cotterill,Partridge Feltham McGillvery and myself. Of the many others who were present if you read this and I have missed you off please add your name. We,thats the Cherrypickers were well received, amongst other 'ties' present were RH REME and South Staffs Yeomanry and Gloustershire Hussars. We did him proud. RIP Maurice. Tru Und Fest.
